Today is THE day for my Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) consultation. I’m admittedly a little nervous but carpe diem, you only live once and all that jazz. With a son who just turned 18, I’m determined to age gracefully but just like a classic car, one requires maintenance.
Ever the fair skinned, sun screen princess (I’m talking SPF 30+ here folks), I’ve developed a few sunspots I’d like to give the old heave-ho to. For blog sake, why not document it?

For the sake of argument, I’ve tried a few natural products to fade the dark areas. From frankincense oil to vitamin C drops and chemical peels, I didn’t experience much success. In the process, I did manage to fall in love with coconut oil for use as a moisturizer so there’s a bonus.
The IPL procedures (5-6 treatments) are touted to be safe and cause minimal discomfort. The expense is a bit of a splurge but is anything worth it ever cheap? When all is said and done, I hope to reclaim the peaches and cream skin of my youth. Of course in some alternate miracle universe I will forever be 21 but right now I’ll settle for 30-something.
