Essential Oils – Get In The Know

EO Oils

I’m not going to get into the nitty-gritty science behind Essential Oils quite yet but I do think it’s best to get familiar with the product you will be using.  There is a formidable difference between natural Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils which can be produced with a number of man-made ingredients.  Man-made properties of Fragrance Oils may not be intended for internal/external use where as Essential Oils can be used in such a manner – the bonus, they are NATURAL!

At this point, the FDA does not regulate Essential Oils and personally I think this can be a good thing.  Much like the organic seed industry and Monsanto, Essential Oils have become a thorn in Big Pharma’s side.  Why?  Because they show results not made by man’s hands but by Mother Nature herself.  The key is finding what works best for you and making sure you do the research.

With that said, there are various types of Essential Oils on the market today but not all are created equal.  When choosing a line of Essential Oils there are many points to consider.  Are they organic?  Are they 100% pure?  What will the out of pocket costs be?

Do your research!  Yes, I’m being repetitive but I cannot stress this point enough.  Research your oil producer; do they test their products for purity?  Do they have strict farming practices they adhere to?  Do they support you and offer you the tools you need in order to use the products effectively?

After reviewing a few of the top oil producers and checking out prices I was a bit taken aback.  Yes, these potent oils can set you back some change but you truly get what you pay for.  After struggling to overcome the sticker shock I ended up scouring Amazon to see what else was out there.  The prices did vary substantially but final decision maker for me was being able to depend on a company who stood behind their product and offered the comprehensive tools I needed to make my introduction a successful one.  Beyond that, I knew many of my friends coveted this particular brand of oils.  They and their family showed real results which positively affected their lives.  In other words, their results spoke volumes.

*My experiences with Essential Oils up to this point have been fairly limited.  I use lemongrass in my steam mop because I love the clean aroma it leaves wafting through my house.  Frankincense, I’ve used in an effort to rid myself of an ever-pesky sunspot, although I did eventually bend to more effective modern medicine (IPL).  Sweet Orange oil has been a calming addition to my Coconut Oil/Beeswax lip balm and body oils.  Most recently and much to my astonishment, lavender oil is helping ease a headache I’ve had since waking this morning!

There are pros and cons to everything in life but if you wade through the oily waters of Essential Oils you might just find the answer you’ve been looking for.   Sometimes, it’s the simplest things which make the biggest impact.

STAY TUNED – Lavender Oil and what it may be able to do for you!
